Sally Struthers Then
In Norman Lear’s groundbreaking sitcom All in the Family, Sally Struthers won over American hearts as Gloria Stivic, the daughter of Edith and Archie Bunker. Candice Azarra, who played Gloria in the pilot episode, had been offered the part first, so she wasn’t expecting to get it. Candice was quickly discarded to make room for Sally. When dealing with her controlling father, Gloria Struthers was known for her blonde pigtails and defiant demeanor. Sally’s life was smooth sailing from there on out, and she went on to become one of America’s most well-known television personalities.
Sally Struthers Now
Sally hasn’t let her age stop her from doing her job, even though it’s unrealistic to expect the years to be kind to everyone. She has long been a supporter of the Christian Children’s Fund (now ChildFund), a non-profit organization that helps hungry and impoverished children in developing countries. She starred as Dolly in the 50th-anniversary production of Hello, Dolly! in 2014. Struthers was satirized twice on South Park in episodes about a hungry boy named “Starvin’ Marvin,” with the joke implying that she is hoarding food in comparison to her efforts to help the hungry. She was reportedly upset by the characterization, which we can understand. Ignore the haters, Sally, and keep doing your best.
