Henry was taken aback. What was the point of Julia and Andrea meeting behind his back? And how come Henry isn’t aware of this? This discussion merely added to the confusion. But at the very least, he knew what to do. So he drove to work and canceled his meeting at twelve o’clock so Julia wouldn’t suspect anything.

Then it was just a matter of waiting. Henry was unable to concentrate on anything. His mind kept wandering to what would happen this afternoon. Will his divorce be ruined as of today? Or was Andrea preparing a surprise? No, he reasoned. To keep himself from doubting, he kept repeating what Tommy had said in his brain.
