Tim Hardin performed on Woodstock’s third day, but his concert is almost never discussed in connection with the festival. He is a folk singer, but he is not well-known, and his only truly popular single is called “If I Were a Carpenter,” He was quite fortunate because the fans appreciated it just as much as they did when they heard it on the radio.

The event apparently moved Max Yasgur, a local farmer and owner of the property where Woodstock took place, to tears. “If we join them,” he is believed to have stated, “we can turn those adversities that are America’s problems today into a vision for a brighter and more peaceful future.” This is a well-known quote attributed to him. This individual was the one who first and foremost made Woodstock feasible.
