We kept saying how much love was in the air throughout the three-day celebration. When it came time to help one another, they did so without hesitation. Aside from the music, it is the spirit of community that distinguishes Woodstock from all other music festivals, both previous and after.

Psychedelic vans were wonderful for parties like this one, and not just because they were the coolest way to get around the venue. They could not only relax, but they also had a wonderful vantage point from which to watch the activity on stage. It was feasible that some spectators would choose to slumber inside the van while waiting for the next musical act. We have to admit that it sounds more appealing than, say, the hood of a car or a motorcycle. Another aspect that contributes greatly to its overall attractiveness is the delight that arises from this arrangement.
