Seals are well-known for assaulting humans who get a little too close to their territory. This, however, is more common during breeding seasons than not. Furthermore, these divers were fortunate that the puppies were not joined by their mothers, who would have attacked to protect their young.

Hunting seals is banned in many places, yet it is considered a sport in others due to the fact that they are used for meat and oil in some countries. Fishermen, sadly, do this in order to have less competitors and less to deal with while out at sea. After witnessing how kind these creatures can be, this is a genuinely horrible development.
