Even though the seal nibbled at Grayson’s suit a little more, it ended up making a move that no one anticipated. The divers were a little skeptical and concerned by what they saw. It took a little bit for the divers to grasp the significance of what was happening.

Grayson immediately recognized that the seal must have relished the sensation of being nuzzled by his fingers. And it was at that point that he began rubbing the seal’s neck and head, as though the seal were a small dog. Grayson was allowed to continue doing this for a short period of time by the seal.
