Winter hats are frequently embellished with those small pom-poms on top, but what precisely do they serve? As far as we can tell, this is something that originated in Scandinavia. Knitters used to make the pom-pom at the point where they gathered the seams in the olden days. This is no longer required, however, it has been retained for historical reasons.

Airplane Window Holes
To be clear, the airplane does indeed have a hole in the window. No, there is no reason to be concerned. The breather hole allows the plane’s outer panes to handle the shift in pressure that occurs when the aircraft climbs in altitude. The cabin would not be safe and comfortable if it did not have it. Apart from that, if there is a problem, an air leak will appear.
