A successful new show mimicked the iconic sitcom, exposing Bewitched to a whole new audience. Elizabeth Olsen drew influence for her acting in WandaVision’s second episode from her namesake Montgomery. To further legitimize the homage, special effects were created using strings, exactly as they were in Bewitched.

You may recall that Montgomery died far too soon. You might be startled to find that the Bewitched actress was only diagnosed with colon cancer two months before she died. Unfortunately, the illness had progressed to stage four by that time. Montgomery’s spouse, Foxworth, told Cancer Today that the actress had been experiencing symptoms for a long period before seeking medical assistance.
