He claimed that the animal appeared to have survived in their near surroundings because he only started to deteriorate when Milly captured him and placed him in a small glass cage. It was not unusual for a wild animal to experience depression or have less energy when their living space was suddenly significantly reduced. Perhaps returning to nature was what this animal required instead of a trip to the vet.

Milly realized she hadn’t given this alternative much attention. However, there was a chance she was incorrect and the animal did require aid. Her parents clearly had no interest to investigate. If she wanted something done, she would have to take action on her own. She then presented her parents with something that astonished both of them. She was obviously determined to save this cat.
