The P-51 Mustang is regarded as a great American icon. When the Rolls Royce Merlin engine was installed inside of it, it exceeded all expectations and soared to even greater heights than before achieved. During World War II, it was designed for use by the British as a medium-altitude fighter plane, which it did. Given its long-range capability, this type of aircraft proved to be extremely valuable in reconnaissance operations and in escorting numerous bombers during several battles. The plane has a top speed of 430 mph and offers a smooth and comfortable flight for passengers.

While the war was going on, the Spitfire was the most widely manufactured British aircraft. In fact, it was the only one that was created not only before, but also during, the battle itself. There have been several distinct versions of the plane built, each with a slightly different wing design. The Supermarine Spitfire 50 is still a respectable aircraft in today’s aviation world! Several historians consider it to be the most significant aircraft of World War II because of its participation in the Battle of Britain.
